Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is a Film for Fans. It may not be the best movie overall but Fans of SEGA's video game series will get a serious kick out of this sequel.
Compared to the first movie, Sonic the Hedgehog 2 focuses more on the aspects that the general audience really liked about Sonic 1. A bigger focus on the CG-characters, more Jim Carrey and less humans and forced jokes. Well the latter is still here but more of them land.
The pacing isn't quite up to snuff but only if you're not looking for easter eggs in every scene. Literally every scene features some things that make fans of the source material happy.
Good family movie, awesome movie if you're a Sonic fan.
