Review of Songs from the Second Floor (2000) by Libby C — 26 Jan 2008
A stunning, beautiful film. Sure, it's harsh in its way, but it weaves this lyrical strain of magical realism through vignettes of a bile-tinged world far too like our own. It isn't for everyone, but I must emphatically recommend it to anyone who loved Brazil, Delicatessen, or Shortcuts.
