Review of Song of the South (1946) by John L — 19 Nov 2007
Are you all serious?!?!
Ahhh....how refreshingly ignorant and nonchalant! if only I could belong to the white majority...
Good Times (for whites, not blacks).
But alas, this "classic gem" is tragically lost...if only it could be made in a different time, a time where minstrel shows were still very popular, which, by the by, Disney should look into reviving as well. they have all the great music that is classical and genuinely American, just like this movie, with nothing offensive to be found; just good old fashioned racism, like grandma and grandpa used to support when hanging Negroes.
