Review of Song of the South (1946) by Candace D — 18 Dec 2009
I am sorry that Walt Disney won't release this film to the public. I didn't think it was racist at all, it had some great messages, and I don't think the african americans were really depicted as slaves, more like the hired help, and children wouldn't understand that anyway.
The 'white trash' in it were more obvious. It has some great songs, and the end brought a few tears to my eyes. It is a part of history and as others have said, it is a nice way to show your kids about a horrible time in history.
