Review of Song of the South (1946) by Corey W — 25 Feb 2012
Maybe there is some underlying controversy about race in this film.
But it's had a rough history as far as other films go.
The animation is fun with the Br'er Rabbit.
Yet with the live actors you can't help but feel uncomfortable and enamored at the same time.
It's great that both black and white actors can interact in this period of time though of the serious reality can be ignored.
It's got a good heart I can give it that.
These stories all have a moral of which the youth Johnny can use to his advantage living alone with his mom and grandma.
All that isnt bad at all.
I understand most will find this film pretty uneasy because of the mixed feelings and politics.
You decide.
