Review of Song of the Sea (2014) by Noel F — 29 Mar 2015
Dear Academy awards voters,.
You chose Big Hero 6 as the best animated film over this? Why? Because they have more manpower and cost way more than this brilliant film? I know Big Hero 6 is not a bad film but it is not special neither, in fact since you are not giving awards to superhero films then why give Big Hero 6 the award especially when something like Song of the Sea is better in every way than your winner. I could argue that the story is complex and touching that I was almost tearing up on how good it was. Please don't tell me that the animation is traditional and not in 3D because I find it beautiful and meticulously done, and to be honest, I think this movie is perfect!
P.S. - I haven't seen Tale of the Princess Kaguya so I have Song of the Sea as the best animated film of the year so far. In fact Big Hero 6 is just third behind Song of the Sea and How to Train Your Dragon 2.
