Review of Son of Saul (2015) by Laszlo S — 10 Dec 2015
"There can be no (lyric) poetry after Auschwitz. " (Th. Adorno) But there can certainly be visual poetry about the hell of the camps, and can be moral horror / thriller about one of history's biggest crime.
Son of Saul is fearless, brilliant, satisfying and horrible; painfully and accurately acted. And it is also uplifting visual storytelling of the holocaust dramas almost as unique genius as Solzhenitsyn One Day of Ivan Denisovich, about The Gulag Camps.
