Drama about a Jewish man who is a helper at Auschwitz - asks the question what will one do to survive? The film answers about anything, including working in a human slaughterhouse. Where is God in all this? Nowhere to be found.
Don't wish for a Hollywood ending here. Jolting, graphic, cruel, harsh, realistic, hard to watch. Nominee for best foreign film, and likely to win, for good reason.
