Review of Son of Rambow (2007) by Nathaniel B — 23 Feb 2009
Clever, original, funny, and touching, Son of Rambow is everything it needs to be. A nostalgic journey into the annals of childhood and a touching tale of breaking social boundaries for the sake of friendship.
On a surface level the film really reacts more as a comedy than anything, but just beneath it are two individual stories of the fractured home lives of two kids who just want to find a way to live free of fear and criticism.
Son of Rambow will make you laugh, possibly cry, and definitely leave you smiling.
