Review of Son of Rambow (2007) by Faiz D — 04 Jun 2012
Before Super 8 there was Son of Rambow and this early 80s set coming of age genre straddler delivers a distinctively British angle on proto film-making. From the awkward school disco to the prominence of man-made fibres the sights, sounds and smells of those times are evoked in a skilful manner by a writer-director who began his career directing music videos for the likes of Pulp and Blur.
Loved it.
