One of the most off-beat in the series. The costume was changed to make the big green guy seem less threatening. Instead of mindless animals intent on destroying anything made by anyone on two legs into true characters in the movie.
This movie attempts to gug a bit more at the emotions than the other films...with the exception of the Smog Monster. Many do not like the movie, but I beg to differ. The movie attempted to humanize Godzilla.
Yes, it did fail in that account, but it was still light hearted enough to get by.
