Review of Son of Godzilla (1967) by Griffin J — 13 Oct 2012
You have to be a hardcore fan in order to enjoy something like this. The realism in a Godzilla movie was never that great to begin with, but this movie just raises the WTF factor to a whole new level. Godzilla spends most of the movie beating up giant mantises and a big spider.
When he isn't doing that, he's doing a horrific job of raising his son. His son looks nothing like his dad and makes the most annoying noises ever. But again, if you're a fan, you'll find a good laugh.
Fun fights against bugs, some funny scenes with Godzilla's son, and a surprisingly heartwarming ending and a cute bond between Godzilla and his son. You could do a lot worse in 90 minutes.
