Review of Son of Dracula (1943) by Roy C — 15 Dec 2010
Made in 1943,Count Alucard (read his name backwards) finds his way from Budapest to the swamps of the Deep south in America,he seduces a heiress and makes her one of the undead, however the local doctor suspects him of being a Vampire and along with the heiress' Fiance they plan to destroy him.
3rd Installement of Universal's Dracula series which sorely misses Bela Lugosi's presence,i do think Chaney jr does'nt do a bad job as the Count, but for me there's no topping Lugosi's Dracula, having said that the pacing of the movie is great and there's never a dull moment,There's some amusing Man to bat/Man to mist transformations to be had.
This movie may not be atmospheric or scary but it is a thrilling watch.
