Review of Somewhere in Time (1980) by Mike S — 25 Jul 2011
Whilst it feels extremely melodramatic, you can't help but be drawn in by this very nicely made little movie with 2 great lead actors who both give stunning performances. Christopher Reeve is in his first movie after Superman 1, (before going back to finish Superman 2), and he makes it easy to forget him as Superman, as his performance is just that good that it knocks the typecasting right out of you.
Christopher Plummer's character feels a tad underwritten however. A little more purpose and villainy from him would have helped more.
A great musical score too, if not a touch dominated by too many strings in some moments.
