Review of Somewhere (2010) by Eduardo F — 14 Feb 2011

We catch a star at the pinnacle of his career, chasing wine, women, and song. But the wine, women, and song have ceased to awaken the numbness he feels inside. When his ex-wife dumps his 11 year-old daughter off without word on when she will return, the star--Johnny Marco played by Stephen Dorff, is forced to examine the path the rest of his life will take.

This film is about a father and his relationship with his daughter. It's also about all life has to offer and when that isn't enough. Why isn't it enough? What's wrong? Great questions.

Don't expect them to be answered on screen; that's part of what makes this a very good film.
