I have been a fan of Sofia Coppola ever since "Lost in Translation." It's a shame that the tendency is to view an artists' work in context of their otherwork because standalone... this film is better than your average movie.
The roles the characters embody are not typical for the character's respective age. With all the legacy of the Chateau Marmont, there is no shortage of sights to look at. Though not my favorite Coppola movie I think it embodies something different the average filmgoer hasn't witnessed.
