A superior example of the easy-to-watch, junk food romcom though way too long at over two hours. I remember bringing up the timer as I felt the story approaching its natural wrap-up period and seeing that there was still 30 minutes left! The film also boasts perhaps the worst, most unromantic exchange ever witnessed in a romcom:
"What about birth control?".
"Menopause.".
"Who's the lucky boy?".
What... the fuck?
Still, never mind, Jack Nicholson and Diane Keaton are both great (I've never really appreciated what an awesome voice old Jack has) and the sizzling chemistry between them keeps you interested. Even Keanu Reeves is good - you may criticise the guy's lack of range but to be fair to him he can do charming when he wants to.
