Review of Something from Nothing: The Art of Rap (2012) by P B — 18 Jun 2012
As someone whose first cassette tape was Grandmaster Flash, I was pumped to see "The Art of Rap." There were some solid, genuine, interviews and freestyles, however the movie probably should have ended earlier than it did.
The interviews did not get any more revealing and thus became repetitive after a while. "Scratch" by Doug Pray is still the best documentary concerning hip hop.
