Review of Something Borrowed (2011) by Omotola O — 24 Sep 2011

This movie is.....BAD, for lack of a better word. Not because it wasn't entertaining but because of the God-awful characters in this movie. I have to wonder what's wrong with whoever wrote this. This movie was supposed to be realistic, right? That's what I thought but the storyline would seem to the contrary, especially when you consider the way the two BEST FRIENDS treated each other. One walks all over the other, using her position of power in their friendship to get whatever she wants while the other stabs the aforementioned in the back, seemingly unconcerned about hurting her friend. The entire time I was watching, I kept hoping that at some point SOMEONE would rise above their reprehensible actions and do the honorable thing. Unfortunately, this never happened. By the end of the movie, I wasn't happy for anyone even though I'm sure the writer thinks (s)he resolved all the conflicts by putting the two lovebirds together and making the other friend a happy mom-to-be.

Final verdict: This movie is an utter failure. If you're just now watching it, be glad you didn't pay to see it in theaters.
