Review of Somers Town (2008) by Jamie H — 27 Aug 2008
A truly heartwarming piece of cinema put together with so much thought. The two lead characters have a charming synergy together on screen, as it encompasses simple tales of human kindness, and brother-like friendship.
Shane Meadows really shows he can nail these common themes, when they can so easily be ruined by over-sentimentality by many other directors. Delicately woven into the film also, is Shane's trademark humour, so superbly executed by Tomo, Piotr and Perry Benson.
Meadows simply goes from strength to strength with consumate ease.
