Review of Some Like It Hot (1959) by Ken S — 05 Apr 2014
Two down on their luck musicians stumble into a situation in which the witness the St. Valentines Day Massacre, and they are forced to go into hiding to avoid being taken out by the mob. Their plan? To pretend to be female and escape Chicago for a gig in Florida with an all female band.
Jack Lemmon and Tony Curtis are the duo who meet up with Marilyn Monroe and avoid getting caught. It is a classic comedy that has easily stood the test of time, even if gender roles have slightly changed over the decades.
It also has the best punchline any comedy could ask for.
