Review of Some Like It Hot (1959) by Randall A — 11 May 2011
I don't care who did this kind of story first cross-dressing jokes are cheap, it's nice to see this particular narrative presented in it's original way but the jokes still come off as a bit hokey.
I didn't find the film to be overwhelmingly funny. It's well made and there are some quality laughs, but it's far from a masterpiece. In my opinion as far as performances go Lemmon was better in The Apartment and Curtis was better in The Defiant Ones.
Don't get me wrong I like this film but I don't love it. On a side note I do agree with most people about the last line being it's best part.
