Review of Some Kind of Wonderful (1987) by Steven F — 02 Sep 2007
John Hughes's 1987 script for the film, "Some Kind Of Wonderful," was the last time Hughes would be involved in a film designed for the teen genre. Directed by Howard Deutch it is a darker, slightly more subversive movie, than Hughes's previous "Brat-Pack" films.
In fact, for John Hughes, a person so closely alligned to the Brat Pack, this film has no Brat Packers in it at all! Starring Eric Stoltz, Lea Thompson and Mary Stuart Masterson. It is a classic love triangle story, and one of Hughes's best scripts!!
