Review of Some Came Running (1958) by Frankie A — 05 Jun 2008
Perfect vehicle for Frank Sinatra and he delivers. Lots of boozing, carousing and womanizing. A few brilliant scenes sandwiched in with a lot of sloppy melodrama. The relationship between Frank Sinatra and his brother played by Arthur Kennedy is the strongest and most compelling and proves that Sinatra was a good actor who could rise above mediocre material and choppy directing.
The scenes between these two are worth watching - as for the rest I'd say its mostly filler.
