Review of Some Came Running (1958) by Wayne H — 11 Jun 2010
I haven't watched many movies with Frank Sinatra ... or dramas with Dean Martin. This movie had them both. It also had a young Shirley MacLaine. I tried to enjoy the movie ... but, it was too long and too slow and too mindless. Perhaps I was in the wrong mood to watch this contrived love story where man loves woman who won't admit that she loves him too ... so man marries floozy.
I guess I shouldn't hold it against the movie since it was made before I was born. Oh yeah ... and the men in this film truly had a backwards view of how to treat a woman. There was a lot of manhandling of women to get kisses and such.
Anyhow, I would *not* recommend this movie to my FB-friends.
