Review of Solomon Kane (2009) by Qt C — 27 Dec 2010
Hm, well this can be deemed as a B-movie. Perhaps the upper levels, given it isn't too cheesy. It follows the tale of Solomon Kane, a tyrannical character in medieval Britain who had pillaged and stolen so fiercely that the devil himself summoned a reaper to claim his soul. This causes Solomon to follow a path of decency and righteousness, to redeem his soul. But will fate allow him to give up the sword for long?
Iiii doubt it! It is a predictable film with silly CG which will be unbearable in a year's time. The story is poorly structured in that we don't get a good sense of how terrible Solomon was before his epiphany, making it difficult to sympathise his hour long angst.
I'd rather watch the film Black Death, but if you like silly low-rent gothic fantasy in medieval times, you'll get it all here.
