Review of Solomon Kane (2009) by Joe C — 23 Jan 2011
Enjoyable hokum. The film is good when he is with the Puritans. I would have liked the newly gained anti-violence stance of Soloman Kane to have been tested a bit more. However, after he decides he cannot be redeemed and heads off on his mission to end the evil once and for all, it's really just one rainy sword fight against bad bald bastards after another.
Having said this though, at the end I was left thinking I'd really like to see what happens next. The character is good and there are other tales to tell. Perhaps with more demons, less rain and less bad bald bastards.
