Review of Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018) by John O — 06 Jun 2018
It's Star Wars. It's *real* Star Wars. While nothing can touch the unaltered original trilogy for the magic mix of mythic feel, sci-fi action, and fun, Solo comes the closest of any Star Wars movie to date.
Everything about Han's backstory we always suspected, or learned through anecdotes scattered through the Star Wars novels, from how he met Chewie to how he became a smuggler to how he got the Millenium Falcon from Lando Calrissian are all here is huge glorious fun movie that combines a surprising great heist film with droids and blasters.
This is the kind of movie, like A New Hope, that kids can see in a theater and love for the rest of the lives. Go see it. Pay full price. See it in IMAX or Studio Movie Grill. It's worth it.
