Review of Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018) by A.m. G — 17 Jun 2018
I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it. There were a few cool "nice tie-in" moments, but most were heavily forced (no pun intended) and landed with a dead thud.
The acting was fine, except Emilia Clarke - she has zero chemistry with anyone.
The robot was annoying, but the tie-in to the Falcon made it worth it.
On the whole, the story was just kind of bland fan-fiction which left me wondering "Why did you make this movie?" It has zero impact on the Star Wars world and is not interesting enough to watch again, let alone a sequel.
Oh, and the worst part - the stupid prequel cameo at the end. It should have been Jabba. I read why the choice was made... and it was still stupid.
So, it's better than the prequels, not anger inducing like Last Jedi, but was still... weak.
