Review of Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018) by Duncan B — 03 Jun 2018

I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. I certainly had my doubts going into this movie - the trailer had me convinced Alden Ehrenreich had whiffed on the titular character, I didn't think they could make me care about a bunch of bandits, and I didn't think it could surprise me. I was 100% wrong.

The building of the underworld was fascinating, the story moved quickly, and the effects were incredible. Moreover, the acting was great.

The ending reveal alone (which I know has been heavily discussed) made it worth it for me. Solo was a pleasant surprise for me, and I truly had a blast during the movie. I'll for sure be re-watching, and I'm really bummed out that it's not performing as well as it deserves.
