Review of Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018) by Emilio C — 09 Jan 2019
As someone who does not hate Disney's Star Wars, Solo is a film that had me on the edge of my seat when I first saw it. It's not considered the best film of the saga and it may not be comparable to the original trilogy, but it certainly holds its own very well, and I think we can all agree it was better than the Last Jedi. It might as well earn a place as my personal favorite.
Val, portrayed by Thandie Newton, is a character that's very secondary and that could've had a bigger role in the film, but for reasons unknown, she's starting to grow up on me.
On an additional note, John Powell did a very sweet job with the soundtrack, "Chicken in the pot" is a song that I consider catchier than "Lapti Nek", "Jedi Rocks", "Canto Bight" or even "Cantina Band", but that's just my personal view.
