Review of Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018) by Liam M — 10 Oct 2018
Ok, it was better than the last Jedi, but it was still trash. It introduced Droid genders??? Lando has sex with his droid?? I know Lando was a player of some sort, but not this. The movie was also pretty rushed.
It didn't really have a Star Wars feel to it. Han's last name Solo is completely meaningless, by being named by an Imperial Officer. Which has zero meaning. Han's actor doesn't even have a single resemble Harrison Ford.
There are better actors who look close to Harrison, but Disney just picked the first actor they saw. It was also a bit feminist, towards the fact that there are gender droids now, and that Lando's droid is female and was making a big deal about it.
Possibly the only good thing about this movie, was seeing Darth Maul for a bit. But it wasn't the best. I swore the pirate leader or bandits was either a female in her 20s or a male in his 20s. But nope.
It was a "Strong" "Independent" little girl, who's freaking 12 years old!! Disney is turning Star Wars into something it never supposed to be. It used to be directed to all ages and genders.
Now, it's directed to Kids and Females.
