Review of Solitary Man (2009) by Lezlee H — 10 Jun 2010
An engrossing character study about a man in denial about the aging process. Douglas gives one of his best performances as a man who is great at self-sabotaging his life. A terrific supporting cast rounds out the ensemble, including strong work from Fischer and Sarandon.
The movie is sharply written and acutely directed by Koppelman and Levien. There is a brutal honesty to the movie and Douglas never compromises his character. He is riveting to watch.
