Review of Solitary Man (2009) by Steve S — 12 Sep 2010
*** (out of four).
Michael Douglas does his usual turn, but I admit he does it very well. Here he is an egotstical, bullying, selfish man who has recently lost his business and is in the process of losing his family as well. He reluctantly takeds a job at a small diner ran by an old friend (Danny DeVito).
The first half is hard to get through a bit because Douglas is such a jerk, but he is eventually able to carry off the transformation.
