Review of Solaris (2002) by Mykel N — 01 May 2009
A quiet, hypnotizing movie. Very few sci-fi movies every pull of what this one does -- exploring the human mind and condition in a new context, an alien environment. The alien in this movie is terrifyingly anonymous; the characters are haunted by their own minds.
Regret, sadness, loneliness, and fear infuse this movie, which is ultimately about the loss of loved ones.
