Review of Solaris (2002) by Nicholas F — 13 Apr 2009
With solid direction and fine acting, the film expertly performs it's duty in that it transcends the issues in a science v. spirituality discussion that it presents to the viewer. I found myself examining my own struggle with it rather than the characters, which made the climax of the film appear to have no obvious resolution even after the fact.
The Russian origional delivers just as deep of a mental impact, but obviously in a whole different style.
