Review of S.O.B. (1981) by Chase F — 01 Oct 2009
I found this hilarious. I loved it and want the DVD. Blake Edward's followed 10 with this and what a film it was. The only reason most people watch this film is because the child friendly all singing, all dancing and loveable disney actress Julie Andrews bares her boobs.
....but there are much more reasons to watch this like the oneliners and funny quotes, watching the director loosing his mind because he thinks his movie is going to be crap, julie Andrews' character having a mental breakdown and having to be drugged or drunk in order to get the scene that everyone knows and how well the hollywood stars play off each other.
This film is a riot from start to finish. Andrews dare to shake off her disney friendly persona and succeeds where she didn't conquer in 10, Richard Mulligan does a sound job as the director who believes his life is going down the pan, Robert Preston who was also in the rare gem the Last Starfighter shines as the quack who also refers to himself as a quack in one of the films funny scenes.
if you can search out this gem, then see it.
