Review of Snowpiercer (2013) by Meredith W — 26 Jan 2016
This violent story of a world post failed climate-change experiment that has killed all life on the planet except for a lucky few who boarded the Snowpiercer train that travels around the globe, with carriage grouped according to a class system, is, on paper, appealing to dystopian fans.
The reality, however, is nothing short of a trainwreck (pun intended). There a plot holes and unexplained logic galore. Chris Evans does a decent enough job as leader of the lower-caste rebellion but Tilda Swinton's creepy dictator character is just ridiculous.
Its enigmatic ending is its only redeeming feature really.
