Review of Snowpiercer (2013) by Joetaeb D — 11 Dec 2015
I have no idea why this movie is rated so highly by critics. It is lame. I am a science fiction junkie, I watch it all; maybe that is why I am not as impressed as the casual viewer. But I have seen video games that made more sense and had more realism. Forget the fact that the hero, who has been starving and oppressed for 17 years in a crowded train car, kills about a hundred armed and armored guards in hand-to-hand combat. It's that kind of movie. And, spoiler, but after an ice age so harsh that it immediately killed every living thing on Earth, at the end they see a polar bear wandering around. What the heck has it been eating for 17 years?
I think there is some sort of bonus being given for this being a South Korean film, but there is nothing original here that wasn't done as long ago as 1928 and Metropolis.
