Basic: Set in the future, a failed climate change experiment kills almost everybody on earth, except only a few survived, and those few lived in a train. The leader, Wilford (played by Ed Harris), who he runs both the train, and the engine, and the rest of the film, focuses on Curtis (played by Chris Evans), and his people, who are the prisoners of this train, and they're at the very end of this train. Now, the biggest accomplishment for them is not only they want to escape the train, but they want to get to the front of the train, so they can take down Wilford, and take control of the engine to this train.

What's the deal: Based on a graphic novel, didn't know it was based on a graphic novel, until I see the opening credits of the film. So, now, the greatest thing about the film is that it has a really great original idea to the story, and it has a really good mixture of science fiction, action, and drama, but that's what the critics said about the film. I kind of agreed what the critics said about the film. The way that I felt by watching the movie was how great the idea of the story. I thought it was really, really good. It's full of so many social commentaries as well. As for the mixture of the genres of what the film was doing, well, I thought it was good. The thing was, when it plays out of an action thriller, that's, for me, what makes it's great because it's full of really good set pieces, and there are times of where it builds a lot of tension, that surprises on what was about to happen next, which plays it well done. As for the drama, on the other hand, was the only criticize I had with it. I'm not saying that it was terrible; I thought the drama was fine, but it isn't as great as I want it to be. It was just a little bit too weak for me. So, the first half of the film, there was so much set pieces, and so much thrills to spare, and then, near the third act of the film, was when Chris Evans start telling his backstory, which it can be quite grim, and somehow reminded me of his character of the protagonist of Oldboy. Then, the ending was like going to this same emotional impact that The Mist had done it at the very end of it. On the hold, I think that all the performances in the film are absolutely solid, the script is nicely written, and most of all, I enjoyed most of the film.

My full opinion: I think that the drama in Snowpiercer is sometimes weak, but really good idea of the story, and full of great action set-pieces, the film does offered me enough to keep me entertained, which I think it does a much better job than Elysium. 8.5/10.
