"Snowpiercer" is the most creative, original film I've seen in a while. Not only is its style unique, but its premise is equally original. After a failed global-warming initiative freezes the globe over, the remainder of humanity is confined to the Snowpiercer, a train with a train car for every possible scenario (i.e. a classroom car, a greenhouse car, and an aquarium car, just to name a few). But it is the dichotomy between the lower-class car and the upper-class cars that is the focus of the film. This is such an interesting way to comment on modern sociopolitical issues. But aside from the social commentary, "Snowpiercer" contains some clever, yet very violent action, that doesn't depend on fancy effects to be enjoyable. And between an intense performance by Chris Evans and a really enjoyable supporting cast that includes Song Kang-ho, John Hurt, and Ed Harris, "Snowpiercer" contains some solid performances.

What a bizarre, delightful film! "Snowpiercer" is nothing like what I expected it to be, which is fine because it exceeded my expectations. If you're looking for something different to watch, "Snowpiercer" is just what you're looking for!
