I really wanted to dislike this movie. I tried watching it months ago and quit. The I tried watching it again and I almost quit. I think that it was the influence of the Korean director -- it felt very "foreign" in a way that my brain couldn't digest.
It was strange in a way that I am not used to. And violent in a way that I am not used to. It almost reminded me of Delicatessen in the "this is so weird my brain can't handle it" sort of way.
But I stuck to it and I thought the second half was much better (or my brain acclimated to it) and I enjoyed it.
