Review of Snowden (2016) by Devo-Nc — 20 Sep 2016
It was better than I thought. I don't understand critics and the reasons behind what makes a movie qualified to be good or indecent. For me, it's whether the experience was invigoratingly memorable as a piece of entertainment or not.
Did it enthral? I feel the experience is being less appreciated than 'a good shot' at the movies nowadays. There are reasons why there is conflict in this world, and it revolves around who has the most power and who is the most threatened by it.
In a world of 'somebody has to win,' this movie gives us a sense of purpose in an age where our lives have been driven by the technology we rely upon. Snowden is not a moviegoing escape from reality, it makes you weary of going back into it.
I will always approve of a film that understands the exploitation of it's own material and goes all the way with it and remains pure to what specifically is being explored. A diamond in the rough.
