Review of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1938) by Tristan P — 04 Nov 2010
Out of all the disney fairytales Snow White is still the true classic. As a boy of 15 I will admit this film is pure gold. It a pioneer of childrens animation and is a true gem in animation film. The characters, the story, the art form and the songs. It's a heartwarming classic with vibrant animation, beautiful characters and a wonderful storyline.
As you grow older watching this film you understand it better and it never looses it's magnificent charm to bring you into the fairytale world of wonder. The animation even today is stunning to look at as it stands out compared to kids animated t.v shows and cgi. Traditional cartoon drawing is an art form that can never been matched as it is such a beautifull art.
The characters are so lovable you really do get attached to them. Seeing there is seven dwarfs and they all have names related to emotions, you can always relate to at least one of them. Snow White is such gentle gracious and kind hearted character you become attached to her.
It really is a beautiful film and is the pioneer of animated films. It's one of the most original concepts of it's time and inspired many directors to creat child fantasy films such as Wizard Of Oz. In conclusion this is a animated gem and if you haven't come round to watching it (which is very unlikely) I think it's time you set your eyes on it.
