Review of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1938) by Liam M — 03 Jun 2011
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is a classic Disney film for it is their first full length feature. I think it continues to resonate today because of its lovable central character, beautiful drawn animation, heart, and humor.
I also think the dwarfs are hilarious especially Doc and Dopey. There are also plenty of classic songs including "Whistle While You work," "Silly Song," and "Someday, My Prince Will Come.
" Also, the film features plenty of dark elements that are perhaps to dark for children. But for me, those dark elements add to the films entertainment value as they add suspense and conflict. The Queen is definitely one of the most evil and one of the darkest of Disney's villains.
This is because of all the devious schemes she performs to eliminate Snow White so she can be fairest in the land. Above all, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is an undeniable animated classic that is both charming and dark.
