Review of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1938) by The Critic ( — 03 Oct 2012
The animation of Disney's first feature length production, though it would evolve over the years, is masterfully done with strong strokes of colour that is complimented by a lovely score.
A classic for so many reasons (Snow White is the epitome of "good" as much as the wicked Queen embodies "evil"), the title characters are exceptionally likeable and very engaging. It's difficult to find a fault in this ground-breaking venture, made at a time when innocence in storytelling wasn't considered a bad thing.
Quite simply, this is a beautiful masterpiece.
