Review of Snow White and the Huntsman (2012) by Sarah C — 17 May 2013
This movie is nothing more than another piece of cinema that is totally mediocre and, in a way, is a total enjoyment to see the movie... during the first and third acts. It's good that the director shows on the big screen the true story of Snow White, after Disney has disturbed the real story, plus add the dark tone appropriate to the plot.
But there's always a "but", because you can't miss when after a good and introductory first act, it lose the course in the second, so that in the third act gives us an epic final battle that leaves certain disappointments to the end.
The performances are pretty good for me, Stewart is much better than the little that's expected to portray a grim and dark version of the leading lady, Hemsworth makes an acceptable performance as the Huntsman and Theron shows all potential and wickedness as the villain of the story: Ravenna.
It's not worthy to mention the rest of the cast, a word describes them: slackly. It may be visually intense and beautiful on stage, but with a loosely screenplay falls down. It's seen that the film wants to ascend from its flaws, but "Snow White and the Huntsman" is so incomplete that results only entertaining but forgettable.
