This is closest movie to the most realistic and most effective dark take on a fairytale to date. Yes it fails in many areas--scripts and acting, most notably--but so what. It is visually gripping and enjoyable if you can watch it with an open mind and little imagination.
For example, imagine that Kristen Stewart and Chris Helmsworth are betters actors! Why, oh WHY does she keep getting cast as the fairest in all the land?!?! Psh. She ALMOST does Snow White justice, but not without the help of special effects.
LOVE Charlize Theron playing psychotic and wicked.
