You don't need a magic mirror to determine this retelling flirts dangerously close to mediocrity. The Lord of the Rings comes to mind with subarctic scenery and battle scenes adding a more grown up vibe, but the Huntsman can't save Snow White from a misguided plight to reclaim the throne and this viewer's interest.
