Review of Snow Falling on Cedars (1999) by Kevin H — 02 May 2006
Disappointing I have to say, but really its in the story and narrative departments. The acting, cinematography and music are all quite well done, but I just don't care too much for this type of story.
I found the themes of anti-racism and tolerance admirable as I am a supporter of such values, but I just couldn't get into it as much as I wanted to. Essentially, its a slightly updated version of 'To Kill A Mockingbird' which likewise provoked the same response from me.
I would imagine however you felt about '...Mockingbird' then you would feel the same about this one. Watchable, but not really engaging.
